Falling For Christmas

Synopsis:

In the days leading up to Christmas, a young and newly engaged heiress experiences a skiing accident. After being diagnosed with amnesia, she finds herself in the care of the handsome lodge owner and his daughter.

Quick Thoughts:

This holiday film wasn’t on my radar initially until I ran across an article that mentioned there was reportedly a queer connection. Plus, it was on my non-queer holiday “Watch List” so I gave it a watch. Overall, it’s a cute romcom chock full of your typical “Hallmark-esque” tropes – but only after Sierra loses her memory. (Beforehand it’s rather cringy!) And our gay character, the resort concierge, is flamboyant as heck and so cliche that it’s a turnoff. And the surprise twist with recently dumped Tad suddenly being into guys? It felt like a joke. Frankly, I don’t call this a queer holiday film even though there is a tiny queer storyline. However if you ignore that aspect, it’s not a bad holiday romcom. If you’re looking for something enjoyable, “Falling For Christmas” is worth a watch.
