Ornaments

Synopsis:

Religion, alcohol and politics are three things best avoided at holidays – but it’s something this group of friends haven’t learned. In this dark comedy, six friends have reunited for what may be their last holiday together.

Quick Thoughts:

I’m not actually sure what the point of “Ornaments” was… I certainly can understand creating a drama among an ensemble cast that asks questions and brings up points of conflict. On that front, this queer holiday film certainly brings the drama! Between issues over religion, politics, and alcohol, the conflict is out in full force. However, it doesn’t go anywhere except ruin most of the relationships among this group of friends. Additionally, the quality was rather poor; it felt like. student film rather than a final edited film. I’d advise skipping “Ornaments”, but as always I leave that up to you as the viewer.
