Mixed Christmas

Synopsis:

Aurora wants to enjoy the holidays this year in some warmth and sunshine, and invites her three best friends to Miami for a Christmas trip to remember. When they arrive at their AirBnb, they discover it’s been double booked…by Aurora’s ex-girlfriend and her new partner Axel. They have no choice but to combine their plans, and celebrate the holiday together.

Like other B. Danielle Watkins movies I’ve watched, I was rather unimpressed with “Mixed Christmas”. Thankfully the cinematographic elements have greatly improved from film to film. But that’s not enough to overlook other flaws. (Or ignore that they like to use the same actors & actresses even though the storylines between films are not connected.) However the biggest issue I had with this queer holiday film is subpar acting – and bad overacting. Don’t get me wrong, there are some good moments between Aurora and her ex. But everyone else falls off to either side. Not to mention the overall flow is off, which is especially noticeable whenever anyone is fighting. Again, this is a step up from “We Need A Little Christmas” – but not by much. I’d skip this queer Christmas film.
