Mer(r)y Xmas!

Synopsis:

Syria (Berta Bertè) is a transgender whore who fights everyday against an hostile world, handing out smiles and tenderness. For her, Christmas’ morning is going to be as any other ordinary day: cold (detached), lonely and contentious; but Syria always shows a warm smile, that hides the hope to spend at least this day not alone. She woke up in her darling client’s bed, Fabio (Emanuele Barresi), waiting to spend an umpteenth and sad day but something special is going to happen.

Quick Thoughts:

I’m not exactly sure what I just watched… while it certainly is a queer holiday short film, and a trans holiday short film, I’m either not getting the point. Or it’s just simply missing? What’s also missing is any dialogue – the entire short film is either unspoken glances and moments, or a few written notes. It’s not bad, but not quite sure I’d call it good either.
