Naked City: A Killer Christmas

Synopsis:

Inspired by the 1948 movie Naked City, follows two cops working the streets on the down low. Their latest assignment is a case of a serial killer who became active around Christmas. However, an ambitious reporter gets in their way.

Quick Thoughts:

I was rather surprised when my online search for LGBTQ holiday films pulled up this holiday sequel film to an earlier made-for-tv movie based on a series from the 50’s. The premise was intriguing: a serial killer is targeting gays in New York City. Except, other than a flamboyant artist who gets killed and a couple of merely referenced other characters, that’s about it for the entire queer angle. In short, it’s a red herring. While it’s not a horrible tv movie and different because of the Christmas thriller storyline, it’s really not a queer holiday film. So if you’re after something LGBTQ, I’d skip this one.
