A Clüsterfünke Christmas

Synopsis:

Holly must buy up the Clüsterfünke Inn to make it a mega-resort, but then she meets Frank and wonders whether she should complete the assignment and go back to her city life, or fall in love with him and find the spirit of Christmas.

Quick Thoughts:

This is a satire of all the cheesy holiday romcom tropes, but after a while even that got a bit tiring and almost annoying. Don’t get me wrong, I love to call out the tropes – but they do create an enjoyable holiday film. But why am I including this in the Database? Because there’s a side character who is flamboyant as hell, yet due to the all the satirical references is played as a closeted homosexual. But in the end, it turns out he’s gay and married to his male partner! Overall, I’m on the fence on whether I enjoy this holiday film, but at the end of the day it’s still a queer holiday film.
