What is the definition of the Queer/Questioning genre?
Films, series, and shorts that include otherwise unidentifiably queer or questioning content, characters, or storylines. This includes those on the queer spectrum but don’t fit within the other labels such as Asexual, Non-Binary, Agender, Intersex, and more.
Also included are films, shorts, and series that are not explicitly queer or lack queer characters or storylines, but still have a queer subtext. Many of these films are considered “queer-coded”, often due to content restrictions and filters when they were created.
Lastly, many series and documentaries cover all of us within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Such generally queer content can be found in this category.
