Plane Jane’s Christmas Special: The Nativity

Synopsis:

A very holy, very unhinged retelling of the Nativity — starring Plane Jane as the Virgin Mary. Featuring music, drag, absurdity, and the true meaning of Christmas (me).

Quick Thoughts:

I’ll start off confessing that I am not a fan of Plane Jane. However, in this short, I didn’t mind her – especially compared to how horrible Niohuru was “Joseph” and I’m sorry, but King Dearf as Jesus was not funny at all. What I did enjoy about this queer holiday short is how they told it à la Drag Race with confessionals interjecting the story. I felt that was a unique element that, paired with Cosmo’s horse-voiced portrayal of the angel Gabrial, made this ok entertaining to watch. Once. Wouldn’t waste my time rewatching it though. So if you’re a fan of Plane Jane or the green screen style and humor of Drag Race, then you’ll likely enjoy this holiday short. Others, I’d recommend watching something else.
