Quick Thoughts:
There are some moments in film that simply captivate you and sweep you off your feet into the story. “In A Moment” has a powerful moment like this – and I LOVE it! While we clearly know how this queer short film will end, the journey to get there is simply beautiful. Max is the new kid in school, and forms a friendship with Leon, who happens to be gay. The tension between these two boys is obvious, and nearly comes to head during a casual game of basketball. However it’s how Max comes out that is what makes this short film so enthralling. Max writes a song to sing at his school’s concert, where he not only comes out as gay but ends kissing Leon in front of everyone. The lyrics are heartfelt and poetic, fitting the situation nicely. It’s that scene that makes “In A Moment” a queer short film worth watching!
