RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars

Synopsis:

12 fan favorites from around the world will each represent their countries as they compete for the title of “Queen of the Mothertucking World,” a grand prize of $200,000, and a spot in the international pavilion at the Drag Race Hall of Fame.

Quick Thoughts:

When a new iteration of RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres, I’m going to watch it. I’ve seen every iteration in the franchise – and even a few others outside of RuPaul’s domain. Overall, I enjoyed Global All Stars. However, I do agree with many other reviewers who noted that it was very Anglocentric despite having queens from other countries and languages competing. I realise that it’s Ru’s franchise and that English is a commonly spoken language, but some of the challenges were difficult for queens where English is not their first language. Now that all said, Nehellenia, was one of the Top 4 – and she admittedly does not speak English well. I was also quite pleased that a DRDU queen made it to the Top 4 as well! If you know many of the queens from their respective franchises, then Global All Stars is quite enjoyable – and you’ll get to know any queens you don’t yet know.
