Quick Thoughts:
This is a decent holiday film, but “Coyote Creek Christmas” is only kinda a queer holiday film. Yes, Hallmark included a lesbian character here – but she’s the desk clerk at the inn who’s crushing after the girl who occasionally performs music at the inn. They barely gets any screen time and other than being used when relevant to the main heterosexual storyline, could be taken out and not affect the film. Hallmark has been doing this often in more recent years, even when we get Hallmark holiday films focusing on queer storylines. While it’s always nice to see a world that has LGBTQ characters included, it feels like a DEI inclusion than a subplot important to the story.
If you want a queer holiday film, I’d skip this one. But if you don’t mind a typical Hallmark heterosexual holiday romance, it’s not a bad film.
