My Secret Santa

Synopsis:

Taylor disguises as Santa at a resort to fund her daughter’s ski lessons. Working with the charming manager Matthew, she finds holiday cheer and a chance at love amidst challenges.

Quick Thoughts:

While many are calling this a rather poor twist on Mrs Doubtfire but reversed, I rather enjoyed this queer holiday film. Is it full of the cliche holiday romcom tropes? Absolutely? But not only is a unique angle, but the underlying message shines through the facades and cheesiness. And if it weren’t for another reviewer, I wouldn’t have even looked at “My Secret Santa” as a queer holiday film. I don’t really count the cross-dressing as queer, however Taylor’s brother is gay and has a partner. Yes, they also mimic Mrs Doubtfire – but I found that bit to be rather cute. Overall, this is a cute queer holiday film to check out this holiday season!
