Main Squeeze

Synopsis:

On a peaceful holiday night, Kiersey and Benji– a couple in an ethical non-monogamous relationship– are awoken by an errant dildo that shatters their bedroom window. The perpetrator outside is Jacqui, Kiersey’s secondary partner, who is drunk and on an ill-conceived mission to establish her romantic dominance. In the spirit of the season, Kiersey and Benji take pity on Jacqui and invite her inside to sleep things off on the couch, and are forced to deal with a series of inebriated confrontations and revelations that challenge the status of their relationship.

Quick Thoughts:

This queer short is a quick glimpse into the lives of Kiersey, Benji, and Jacqui. With a very large dildo crashing through their window, Kiersey and Benji have to face a consequence of being in a non-monogamous relationship: when the “other” girlfriend shows up on your doorstep. Jacqui’s play for Kiersey is enjoyable, but in the end it didn’t feel like anything had actually changed. And suddenly the short film was over. It felt like there was more to be told, or the message could’ve been clearer. And other than some Christmas decor, this entire short could’ve taken place on any night of the year. But it’s a quick watch, so give it a go and see what you think.
