Shoulder Dance

Synopsis:

The slippery lines between friends, lovers, and partners threaten to trip up two couples-one gay, one straight-over a wild weekend of seductive games, all-out indulgence, and unraveling revelations in this award-winning witty, swoony summertime romance “Shoulder Dance.”

Quick Thoughts:

“Shoulder Dance” is an odd film. In fact, another reviewer stated it best when they said it was an intermittently engaging, but never-quite-believable romp. The premise is a intriguing setup: two childhood friends who haven’t seen or spoken in years are back together. Add in their partners, booze, weed, and drugs – and it gets even more interesting. Tensions quickly rise and something unspoken needs to be resolved. But it takes forever to get to what is not really that much of a surprise in the end. This queer film was neither good, but it was wasn’t horrible. Unless you want to make your own opinion, I’d opt for something more captivating.
