Last Christmas

Synopsis:

Kate is a young woman who has a habit of making bad decisions, and her last date with disaster occurs after she accepts work as Santa’s elf for a department store. However, after she meets Tom there, her life takes a new turn.

Quick Thoughts:

It was thanks to an article about holiday films with lesbian characters that I was introduced to “Last Christmas” – although the iconic song plagues us every Christmas season. I started watching this film knowing only that Kate’s sister is a lesbian living with her girlfriend, and not yet out to their parents. So it wasn’t too surprising that the queer storyline is rather diminished compared to Kate’s arc – but I still enjoyed how it played out. And I absolutely was shocked with the twist at the end, and enjoyed this film even more. If you haven’t yet seen “Last Christmas” and enjoy heartwarming stories set at the holidays, then give this film a go. The queer side storyline just adds to the overall enjoyment.
