Another Xmas Dinner

Synopsis:

An Afro-Latino family is challenged with seeing the youngest son (Tony Medina) for the first time in four years since his sexual transition, (to Tamira Medina) and meeting her new husband for the first time on the evening of their family’s annual Christmas dinner.

Quick Thoughts:

I’m not quite sure what this queer short film is intending to show. It’s clear that Tamira’s father is not quite accepting as her mother is, and there’s certainly tension when they all finally meet before the Christmas dinner. But the only conclusion I got was that her father needed more time, and then stays sitting outside while the rest of the family console her – and then the short ends. I also found it odd that they filmed the entire short in black & white. Perhaps this is a trans short holiday film that you’ll need to check out for yourself.
