Quick Thoughts:
I grew up watching “Days of our Lives”, a carry-over from my mother who used to watch it with her grandparents. However, life took me away from the TV when it was on by the end of high school so I’ve lost track of the storylines since. But after discovering “A Very Salem Christmas”, I simply HAD to watch this queer holiday special! And aside from a few newer characters, specifically Salem’s first gay super-couple Will and Sonny. This holiday special focus on the two of them writing a movie script on a deadline before Christmas Eve – so they create a cliche “Christmas miracle” utilizing their family in unique situations that both highlight and twist around some of the well-known characters. This holiday special is on par with standard soap opera storylines, but is a cute stand-alone story that ties everything together nicely. If you’re a fan of “Days”, then I highly suggest you watch “A Very Salem Christmas”!
