1985 (Short)

Synopsis:

A dying man seeks out a beauty consultant to hide his symptoms.

Quick Thoughts:

While this queer short film is not exactly a holiday film, the story here was eventually continued and expanded into a feature film that DOES center around going home for Christmas. So I’m including it as a queer holiday short film.
And wow – it’s quite moving! The premise is simple. Adrian has AIDS, including full-blown KS scars visible on his face. Since he’s moving home for the final time and especially since his parent’s don’t know he’s dying yet, he wants to cover up the scars. The most touching moment is when Tammy remarks that she used to do her brother’s makeup. Even if you haven’t seen the feature length film “1985”, this queer short film is definitely worth watching!
