Synopsis:
Quick Thoughts:
Yossi & Jagger is a film I first watched years ago, yet this rather simplistic queer romance still leaves quite a haunting impact. There is a rawness to both the storyline and the film’s cinematographic style, something that Eyton Fox has become known for. We start off with a beautiful romantic & flirtatious scene in the snow that truly evokes the relationship between Yossi and Jagger. However, due to the nature of the military and cultural implications, they have to keep their relationship secret. But that doesn’t stop them from a heartfelt, yet premonitious, convo before they head out on the last-minute ordered ambush later that night. While this queer romance might have a tragic ending, there is no doubt that it’s a heartfelt romance beautifully portrayed on scene.
