Round And Round

Synopsis:

While Rachel is stuck in a time loop, reliving the night of her parents’ Hanukkah party, she leans on the boy her grandmother is trying to set her up with to make it out.

Quick Thoughts:

This cute Hallmark holiday romcom was released in 2023. It’s cute, fun, and follows many of the common tropes we’ve come to know as “Hallmark” tropes – but don’t let that disuade you from watching this Hanukkah based film! Yes, instead of featuring Christmas as the common holiday of the season, this film is a refreshing take on another common holiday of the winter season. But that’s not all, they throw in a bit of a “Groundhog Day” time loop twist that breathes a bit of freshness into the film.

Now, if you’re looking for a strong queer or LGBTQ presence, unfortunately “Round And Round” is not the queer holiday film you’re after. While Rachel’s sister is a lesbian and shown with her partner as part of the family, they are a mere sideline plot to the larger story of a heterosexual romance of true love. However, it’s still one of the better Hallmark holiday films to enjoy – the queer angle just gives it an extra reason to add this one to your watch list!
