While “Spoiler Alert” made its debut during the 2022 Christmas season, it took me until recently to sit down and watch this heartfelt queer film. Based on the real-life relationship between Michael Ausiello and Kit Cowan, this film chronicles their life together until Kit’s tragic end. Yet the reason the film is so compelling to watch is not because the film is based on a true story that hits close to home, but rather for the realistic and non-stereotypical way the characters are portrayed. Packed with some great chemistry, we are drawn into the ups and downs of their relationship. So set aside the thought that this may be a Christmas film (it’s not!), and find time to savor “Spoiler Alert”.
