Vesartî

(Hidden)

Synopsis:

Ali Kemal’s routine life is interrupted when a stranger tells him he will become a woman on his 30th birthday. Skeptical and confused, he tries to make sense of this message and what it will mean for his future. Kurdish director Ali Kemal Cinar tells a clever, magical story that blurs the distinctions of normality, an allegory that examines what it means to be a woman, to be a man, and the relationship between body and soul in modern Kurdish and Turkish societies.
